Who is Nasim Farasati?
Nasim (Tehran) is a confident and self-reliant woman;
partly because of her intense experiences in Iran. Now she is living happily in the Netherlands (Rotterdam) for several years now.
Nasim's first introduction to visual language was as a video editor. She did this for many years and she was one of the very well known and in most sought-after video editors of Iran.
Nasim holds a Bachelor's degree in Professional Photography and a Master's degree in Graphic Design in Iran.
She has also participated in numerous meetings on avant-garde, photography and painting, expressionism, cubism, impressionism and art in the 21st century.
Her work can be seen in both solo and combined exhibitions.
The essence of Nasim's work
Nasim always chooses for single shot photography, but with a special and artistic appearance.
“The shapes I create reflect the inner essence of modern mankind. The meanings and human identity have disappeared. I show the speed in overtime.”
“People talk less with each other, think less and get to know themselves less. Everything is moving at a fast pace and people think that if they don't move at this speed, they will fall behind. Where is the thought, the thinking at this fast pace?”
“This world seems to be a planned world. If someone behaves or looks at it differently, many people will hardly notice it or not at all. This is not the real world of people, this is the world of politicians, celebrities and followers. The wrong human connections in the photos are obvious.”
“In the photos I took of mainly Iranian women, you can see that many live in nightmares and fears. The fears that Iranian society gives them. I want to show the speed of destruction of that world.”
“But I show photos with symbols of love, friendship and relationships. With these elements I want to criticize today's society and the world today. The more intense these lines become, the more objection is shown. The relationship and distances are getting harder.”
Nasim shows her thoughts through her photographic artworks. No photo is perfect, but it is everyday reality captured in the lens. Nasim's inner urge as an artist is unstoppable.
